When is the best time to see wildlife in Kabini?
October to May. The dry summer months (March–May) are the prime window — Asia's largest elephant congregations gather on the Kabini backwater banks and leopard sightings peak. The park's safari zones close during peak monsoon rains.
Can I really see the black panther in Kabini?
Kabini (the Nagarahole buffer) is India's most reliable black-panther habitat — home of the famous melanistic leopard photographers call 'Saya'. Sightings are never guaranteed, but our naturalists track his territory across multiple jeep and boat safaris to give you the best odds in the country.
How do the safaris work?
Two safaris daily — dawn and late afternoon — alternating between 4×4 jeep drives and boat safaris on the Kabini river, where elephants, gaur and crocodiles line the banks. We stay riverside so you're first into the zone each morning.
